Improve your game

The first version will not be perfect. Play it, then change one thing at a time.

The dragon should flap its wings and bob a little while it flies.

When you collect 5 gems in a row, play a happy sound and show a little burst of sparkles.

Add thunderclouds to dodge, and a level 2 where they move faster.

  • One thing at a time. “Make the dragon slower” works better than a long list of wishes.
  • Play after every change, and say what you see. For example: “the dragon is too fast” or “I can’t see the gems on a phone.”
  • Say how it should feel, not how to code it. For example: “Make it bouncier.”
  • Ask for tests when something must keep working: “Write a test that touching a thundercloud ends the round.”
  • Keep the old version if you are unsure. Ask: “Try a version where the camera follows the dragon, on a new branch, and don’t merge it yet.”

Claude can draw shapes, characters and backgrounds in code. These load fast. If the child draws something on paper, photograph it and give it to Claude: “Make the dragon look like this drawing.” Every picture, sound and font must be inside the game. Nothing is loaded from other websites.
